College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Every account is verified with a @byu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Cougars — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

BYU's on-campus housing is a handful of distinct communities. Helaman Halls is the traditional residence-hall side of things, clustered around the Cannon Center and its all-you-care-to-eat Cannon Commons. Heritage Halls, Riviera Apartments, and Wyview Park are apartment-style, with full kitchens and roommates instead of a hall floor, and the Language Immersion Student Residence houses students who agree to speak one of nine languages at home. Helaman, Heritage, and Riviera each set aside designated rooms and apartments for students eighteen and younger, so an incoming class lands across all three. Single undergraduates also spend their first two semesters in BYU on-campus housing, BYU-contracted off-campus housing, or with qualifying family, so everything you need is already on campus. BYU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Check what the room already has before you buy anything. Helaman rooms come with a bed, desk, chair, and closet for each student plus a mini fridge, and residents there are required to carry a full meal plan. In Heritage, Riviera, and Wyview, every tenant gets a bed, closet, desk, chair, and dresser drawers, and the apartment itself already includes a refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, dining table and chairs, and seating furniture — a second microwave is wasted money. Beds are extra-long twins in Helaman Halls, Heritage Halls, and Wyview Park, with David John Hall the one exception at standard twin, so buy sheets accordingly. Beds can be raised roughly three feet on supports provided by housing (about four feet at Wyview), but cinder blocks and improvised risers are out, and personal refrigerators, space heaters, and small appliances aren't allowed in bedrooms. Helaman residents hang things with 3M Command hooks and Plasti-Tak; the other areas allow nails, six holes per room, but not Command hooks.

Meet somewhere busy and central. The Wilkinson Student Center, the Harold B. Lee Library, the BYU Store, the Cannon Center, and the Richards Building all work — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

The 2026–27 on-campus agreement period runs August 26, 2026 to April 24, 2027, and those two windows are when listings move fastest.
