College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Every account is verified with a @bgsu.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Falcons — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

BGSU requires students to live on campus for their first two years, so the halls turn over hard every August and May. First-year and new transfer students are housed in Centennial Hall and Conklin Hall. Returning students spread out across Founders Hall, Falcon Heights, Falcon Landing, Kohl Hall, McDonald Hall, Offenhauer Towers and Kreischer Quadrangle, with townhouse-style living at The Village Townhouses for upperclass and Greek-affiliated students. Between the residency requirement and that much churn, everything you need is already on campus. BGSU students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Know what your room already has before you buy. Every BGSU room comes with an extra-long twin bed (80" x 36") on an adjustable loft frame, a desk and chair, a dresser, and a wardrobe or built-in closet, so bring twin XL sheets rather than standard twin. The University supplies the lofts — there is no loft kit to buy or rent, and personal lofts are not permitted. Compact refrigerators must be under 5 cubic feet, no more than 36 inches tall, and draw no more than 1.5 amps; microwaves cannot exceed 900 watts. Air fryers, deep fryers, hot plates, toasters, toaster ovens, hot pots, grills, waffle irons, portable heaters, extension cords, candles and inflatable furniture are all prohibited, which is exactly why the compliant secondhand fridge someone is selling in May is worth grabbing. Most halls list air conditioning as a standard amenity, including Centennial, Conklin, Founders, Falcon Heights, Kohl, McDonald, Offenhauer and The Village. Kreischer Quadrangle is the exception, and a trustee-backed renovation to add air conditioning to its western wings could start as soon as fall 2027 — until then, a good fan is a genuinely useful August purchase.

Meeting up is easy when the whole campus fits in a walk. Trade in the open at the Bowen-Thompson Student Union, outside Jerome Library, by the front desk of the Student Recreation Center, or at the Sundial Food Court at Kreischer Quadrangle during busy dining hours. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
