College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. Every account is verified with a @u.boisestate.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Broncos — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

First-year Broncos land in Chaffee Hall, Driscoll Hall, Morrison Hall, Towers Hall, Keiser Hall, Taylor Hall, or Syringa Hall, or in the suite-style rooms at Honors College and Sawtooth Hall and University Square. Sophomores and above move over to University Suites, Lincoln Townhomes, and The Osprey, which also takes first-year students. Boise State guarantees housing to first-years who apply by the May 1 deadline, so every spring a full class locks in a room and starts working out what to buy — and every May the class ahead of them starts working out what to unload. Everything you need is already on campus. Boise State students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come furnished with a bed, mattress, desk, dresser, and closet, so the shopping list is mostly the soft stuff and the small appliances. Mattress size is the one thing to check before you buy sheets: Chaffee, Driscoll, Keiser, Morrison, Taylor, Towers, Syringa, University Suites, and University Square use a standard twin at 74 by 38 inches, where twin or twin XL sheets fit, while Honors College, Sawtooth Hall, and The Osprey use full extra-long beds that take queen sheets, and Lincoln Townhomes has fulls. Bed heights can be set to standard, captain, or lofted in most halls, though not in Towers, Driscoll, Honors College, Sawtooth, Lincoln Townhomes, or The Osprey. Housing caps mini fridges at 3.2 cubic feet and recommends 700 to 800 watt microwaves, and you can rent a MicroFridge through Housing for the year instead. Leave the window AC unit, space heater, toaster oven, and your own bed frame at home — all of those are prohibited.

Meeting up is easy when the whole campus sits in a few blocks along the Boise River. Hand things off inside the Westmark Student Union Building, outside Albertsons Library, at the Recreation Center, on the Quad, or near Albertsons Stadium on a game weekend — no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
