College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. Every account is verified with a @binghamton.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Bearcats — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Binghamton splits its housing into six residential communities, and the one you land in changes what you actually need. Newing College is four buildings of corridor-style doubles — Bingham Hall, Broome Hall, Delaware Hall and Endicott Hall. Dickinson Community runs six: the flats in Digman Hall, Johnson Hall, O'Connor Hall and Rafuse Hall, plus the corridor doubles in Old Digman and Old Rafuse. College-in-the-Woods has Cayuga Hall, Mohawk Hall, Onondaga Hall, Seneca Hall and Oneida Hall, which is first-year only. Hinman College's five buildings are Cleveland Hall — renovated and reserved for incoming first-years — along with Hughes Hall, Lehman Hall, Roosevelt Hall and Smith Hall. Mountainview College suites fill Cascade Hall, Hunter Hall, Marcy Hall and Windham Hall, and transfers and upperclassmen who want kitchens and single bedrooms head to the Apartments Community: Susquehanna Community and Hillside Community. Whichever one you're in, everything you need is already on campus. Binghamton students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Every room comes with an extra-long twin bed, a desk and chair, a dresser and a wardrobe or closet, so buy XL twin sheets rather than standard twin. Air conditioning is the big variable: Cleveland Hall, Mohawk Hall, Dickinson except for Old Digman and Old Rafuse, and all of the Mountainview and Newing buildings have it. Personal air conditioners are prohibited, which is why fans move fast in August. You can bring your own refrigerator if it's 5.5 cubic feet or less, or lease a MicroFridge through Residential Life. Skip the lofting supplies — they're on the do-not-bring list, along with extension cords, space heaters, toasters, coffee makers, candles, tapestries and LED strip lights.

Hand-offs are simple here. Meet inside the University Union, on the steps of Glenn G. Bartle Library, out on the Peace Quad, by East Gym after a workout, or at the Events Center on a game night: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

First-year and transfer students move in Aug. 14-15, 2026, and returning students Aug. 15-16 — that week, and the days right after finals, are when listings turn over fastest.
