College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Every account is verified with a @bruins.belmont.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Bruins — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Belmont requires every full-time undergraduate with fewer than 60 credit hours to live in campus housing, so most first- and second-year students live in the same cluster of buildings off Belmont Boulevard. New Bruins land in Hail Hall, Heron Hall, Kennedy Hall, Maddox Hall, Patton Hall & Bear House, Pembroke Hall, Potter Hall, Thrailkill Hall, Wright Hall, or Wiseman Suites. Upperclass students move into the suite and apartment communities: Hewlett Hall, Benz Hall, Wiseman Apartments, Russell Hall, Dickens Hall, Horrell Hall, Belmont Commons, and Hillside Apartments. With that many students within a few blocks of each other, everything you need is already on campus. Belmont students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms come furnished, and the details drive what's worth buying. First-year rooms include two extra-long twin beds, desks, chairs and dressers; Thrailkill adds wardrobes, and Hail rooms have closets and an in-room sink. Hail and Maddox run on central air, while Thrailkill rooms have individual heating and cooling. You cannot bring your own mattress under Tennessee fire code, so XL twin sheets and a topper are the smart buy. Beds loft only with an approved kit from Residence Life; outside loft systems, bed risers and cinder blocks are prohibited. Refrigerators must be Energy Star rated and under 4.0 cubic feet, microwaves have to land between 700 and 800 watts, and toasters, air fryers, instant pots and space heaters are not allowed. That's why a compliant fridge or microwave from a graduating senior beats guessing at a big-box store.

Meet somewhere public and busy. The Lila D. Bunch Library, the Curb Event Center, the Janet Ayers Academic Center, Harrington Place Dining, and the Bell Tower are all easy to find and full of people at almost any hour. Hand off the item, split in five minutes, and get on with your day: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.

The 2026–27 housing agreement runs from August 13, 2026 through May 8, 2027, with first-year move-in spread across August 13–15. Those days, and the last week of the spring semester, are when listings move fastest.
