Buying & selling at Bellarmine

Campus details for Bellarmine students.

College Marketplace is the student-only buy and sell app for Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. Every account is verified with a @bellarmine.edu email address, so you're only ever trading with other Knights — not strangers from Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

Bellarmine is a genuinely residential campus. Every full-time student with 88 or fewer credit hours has to live in the residence halls unless they're commuting from a parent or guardian's home within 50 miles, so most of the undergraduate population is on campus at once. First-year Knights usually land in Kennedy Hall, Newman Hall, Siena Primo Hall or Siena Secondo Hall, which offer singles, doubles and triples with community bathrooms. Upperclass students move into suite-style housing: Anniversary Hall and Siena Terzo Hall connect two double bedrooms through a shared full bath, Petrik Hall suites hold four double bedrooms and a single around a common area with a full kitchen, and Siena Quarto Hall has doubles and singles with private bathrooms. With every hall inside the same compact campus, everything you need is already a five-minute walk away. Bellarmine students post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, rugs, bikes and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail.

Rooms are furnished the same basic way across all six residence halls: an XL twin bed per resident, so buy extra-long twin sheets rather than standard twin, plus a desk and chair, a closet or wardrobe, and mini-blinds on the windows. Air conditioning and heat are standard in every hall. Kennedy, Newman, Anniversary and the Siena halls come with a microwave and refrigerator in the room, and Petrik suites have full kitchens, which is why personal microwaves and fridges aren't allowed where the university already supplies them. Residence Life also prohibits hot pots, toasters and toaster ovens, oil popcorn poppers and countertop grills such as George Foreman grills, along with candles, incense and halogen lamps. Decorating rules are strict too, so skip anything that needs nails or double-sided tape.

Handoffs are easy here. Meet a buyer at Centro, at the W.L. Lyons Brown Library, outside the SuRF Center, at the University Dining Hall between classes, or on the Quad when the weather cooperates. All of them are busy, public and a short walk from every residence hall: no shipping labels, no delivery fees, no meeting someone off campus.
