Where Cardinals buy and sell
Ball State's halls are grouped by tier and spread across campus. Whether you're in Baker/Klipple at Noyer, Kinghorn, or Park, in Beyerl (North Hall), Botsford/Swinford, DeHority, North West, Schmidt/Wilson, Studebaker East or West, in Woodworth, or in the University Apartments, everything you need is already on campus. Cardinals post futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, fans, seating, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.
If you're in Woodworth, buy a fan
This is the one thing to know before August. Woodworth is the only residence hall at Ball State without air conditioning — every other hall on campus is air-conditioned. Ball State prices it accordingly, but Muncie in August is Muncie in August. A good box or tower fan is the first purchase for anyone in Woodworth, and worth listing in May rather than throwing away, because next year's Woodworth residents will want it.
Bathrooms vary too
Worth checking before you buy shower gear. Baker/Klipple, Kinghorn, Park, and DeHority have private or semi-private bathrooms. Beyerl, Botsford/Swinford, North West, Schmidt/Wilson, and Studebaker East are semi-private. Studebaker West and Woodworth are community-style — which is where a shower caddy, robe, and flip-flops actually matter.
Meeting up on campus
Handoffs happen at landmarks everybody already knows. The L.A. Pittenger Student Center, Bracken Library, and the Jo Ann Gora Student Recreation and Wellness Center are all short walks from the residence halls. No shipping labels, no delivery fees, no driving across Muncie to meet someone off Craigslist.
Textbooks without the bookstore markup
Course materials for architecture, nursing, education, and the sciences run into the hundreds of dollars a semester, and the same editions circulate through campus year after year. Buying from the Cardinal who took the class last term beats the bookstore buyback spread on both ends — the seller gets more than the buyback price, and the buyer pays less than retail.

Does it cost anything?
No. Listing and browsing are free, and we don't take a cut — you handle payment directly with the other student, however you both prefer.
Where should I meet to hand something off?
Somewhere public and central. The L.A. Pittenger Student Center and Bracken Library are the easiest — busy, well-lit, and everyone knows where they are.
What if nobody's selling what I need?
