Where the Tide buys and sells
Alabama houses up to 9,000 residents across 17 communities. Whether you're in a suite at Ridgecrest East, Ridgecrest West, Ridgecrest South, Riverside, Lakeside, Bryant, or Presidential Village I or II, in traditional doubles at Burke, Paty, Parham East, or Parham West, in Blount, John England Jr., or Julia Tutwiler, or in apartments at Bryce Lawn, Highlands, or East Edge, everything you need is already on campus. Alabama students post mini fridges, futons, storage bins, desk lamps, monitors, bikes, and gently used textbooks every semester — usually for a fraction of retail. Students living off campus around the Strip and downtown Tuscaloosa use it too. Same rule applies: verified students only, and the person on the other end is someone you'd pass on the way to class.
The winter break clear-out
Alabama's halls stay open for Thanksgiving and Spring breaks, but most close for Winter Break — which means a real December wave of students hauling things out, on top of the usual August and May rushes. Worth watching the feed in early December if you're buying.

Course materials for engineering, business, nursing, and the sciences run into the hundreds of dollars a semester, and the same editions circulate through campus year after year. The weeks that matter most
Move-in in August and move-out in May are when the marketplace is busiest.
